Morgan Smith

Morgan Smith, a graduate from Columbia College and Mannes College of Music at The New York Philharmonic's Columbia University, was a Seattle Opera Young Artist (1999-2000). In 2001, he made his stage debut with Billy Budd portraying Donald. One of the most popular roles in Seattle Mr. Smith has performed roles in 12 other productions since that debut -- including The Count Alamaviva from Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni (title role), Silvio in I Pagliacci, Riccardo in I Puritani, and Peter Niles in Mourning Becomes an Electra. Smith is a regular performer on concert stages. He was the first to make his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion and also performed with San Antonio Symphony in the San Antonio Symphony at the North American premiere for Detlef Glanert's orchestral adaptation of Brahms famous cycle Vier Praludien Und Ernste Gesange. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the Requiems by Brahms and Faure as well as Mozart, the Masses composed in C Minor and G Minor written by Vaughan Williams, Bach's B Minor Mass as well as numerous cantatas that include H ndel's Messiah, L'Allegro il Penseroso and the Moderato. and Haydn's The Creation, Lord Nelson Mass and Haydn's The Creation are also included as part of the repertoire for concert performances.
